Yoline L. Orelus, CBHCM

Mental Health Case Manager

Yoline Orelus is a Mental Health Targeted Case Manager at Turning Point Mental Health Center.   She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with Nursing as a minor.  Ms. Orelus has 10 years of experience working in the healthcare field. Her work experience includes being a Registered Medical Assistant for the geriatric population, a Residential Counselor for clients with developmental disabilities and as a Case Manager and success coach for Broward County Public School students and their families. Ms. Orelus aspires to obtain a dual degree; Master of Social Work and Master of Science in Disaster Resilience Leadership (MSW/MS-DRL).

Ms. Orelus was born in Cape-Haitien, Haiti.  She entered the world as a second child, through the womb of a poor country village seamstress with an education halting at 8th grade and a Haitian diaspora businessman traveler as a father. So eager to fulfill their own childhood void, Yoline's parents invested into her education and registered her in a private school at the age of one. Ms. Orelus’ fate was changed forever at the age of six when her father passed away due to an illness and her mother migrated to the U.S. in search for a better life. The family experienced legal status and socioeconomic challenges until the children were old enough to work. She was inspired to serve as a vessel that would help prevent others from experiencing the challenges she overcame.

Ms. Orelus’ patients and co-workers would describe her as caring and compassionate, open-minded, resilient, and emotionally intelligent. Yoline loves to be of service to others by helping people solve problems, connecting them to available community resources and serving as a positive force that has a positive influence in their lives. Ms. Orelus describes herself as a “Jack of all Trades”. In her spare time, she likes to spend quality time with family, engage in artistic activities, and invest into the nature of her wellbeing.
