Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Wayne Kossman is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Life Coach, Board Certified National Certified Counselor and a Certified Counselor Trauma Professional. Mr. Kossman received a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He has extensive experience working with adults from vulnerable and marginalized communities including the LGBTQ+, men having sex with men (MSM), and people living with HIV/AIDS who suffer from trauma, substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns impacted by shame, and societal and self-stigma. Mr. Kossman utilizes an eclectic mix of modalities to inform treatment including mindfulness, trauma-informed care, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) techniques, motivational interviewing and solution-focused therapies with influences from Gestalt and Humanistic approaches. Wayne is dedicated to providing culturally competent and evidence-based therapy and support through a lens of compassion. He is excited to be a team member of Turning Point Mental Health.
