Jennifer Holtz Torres is a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor with over 30 years of behavioral health professional experience. She has worked in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings, with adults and children, and in mental health, substance abuse, and dual diagnosis programs. Her background includes provision of direct services, program and quality assurance management, and program development, implementation, and evaluation.
Ms. Torres received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts and a Master’s degree in Developmental and Educational Psychology from Columbia University. Ms. Torres is trained in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic models including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT, and Traumatic Incident Reduction. Her clinical approach is strength-based, recovery-oriented, and client-centered. Ms. Torres encourages her clients to provide as much information and detail with which they are comfortable sharing so that she is able to best support feeling better and improved functioning. Ms. Torres recognizes that each person is unique and thus does not bring judgement into the therapeutic relationship.
