Michelle Montero-Caicedo, LMHC, is one of the founders and Chief Executive Officer at Turning Point Mental Health Center.  Michelle has over 20 years experience in child welfare and healthcare management.  From 2005 through 2014 Michelle was the Chief of Clinical Services at Our Kids of Miami-Dade/Monroe, Inc., the lead Community Based Care Agency for foster care and adoption services in Miami-Dade and the Florida Keys. In that role, Michelle implemented innovative practices, such as the expansion of Child Parent Psychotherapy to address trauma and attachment, Medical Case Management, a Nurse Home Visiting Program, monitoring of psychotropic medication and ongoing developmental screenings for children in foster care. Prior to Our Kids, Michelle was a Program Administrator for The Department of Children and Families in the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Office. She has also worked as a psychotherapist in private practice and health care management organizations.

Michelle received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida International University and a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. She completed her clinical practicum at the Miami Veteran’s Medical Center and her post-Master’s license requirements at Lighthouse Care Center, a Department of Juvenile Justice Residential Center for adolescent girls. Michelle holds a professional license by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and is certified by the Florida Department of Health as a Qualified Clinical Supervisor for mental health interns.  Michelle is also fluent in Spanish.
