Michelle Montero-Caicedo, LMHC-QS

Founder & CEO

Michelle Montero-Caicedo, LMHC, is the founder and CEO of Turning Point Mental Health Center. With over two decades of experience in child welfare and healthcare management, she has dedicated her career to improving mental health services and outcomes for vulnerable populations.  As CEO, Michelle brings a unique blend of strategic insight and operational expertise, guiding her organization through evolving markets with clarity and confidence. Her leadership style is rooted in authenticity, resilience, and a deep understanding of the human side of business.   

 

In previous professional roles, Michelle served as Chief of Clinical Services at Our Kids of Miami-Dade/Monroe, Inc., the lead Community-Based Care agency for foster care and adoption services in Miami-Dade and the Florida Keys. During her tenure, she spearheaded several groundbreaking initiatives, including the expansion of Child-Parent Psychotherapy to address trauma and attachment, the implementation of Medical Case Management, a Nurse Home Visiting Program, psychotropic medication monitoring, and comprehensive developmental screenings for children in foster care. Prior to her work at Our Kids, Michelle held the role of Program Administrator at the Florida Department of Children and Families in the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Office. She has also practiced as a psychotherapist in both private settings and healthcare management organizations, bringing a compassionate and clinically sound approach to her work.

Michelle earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida International University and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. Her clinical training includes a practicum at the Miami Veteran’s Medical Center and post-master’s licensure work at Lighthouse Care Center, a Department of Juvenile Justice residential facility for adolescent girls. She is a Flroida Licensed Mental Health counselor, is a National Board for Certified Counselor (NBCC) and is certified by the Florida Department of Health as a Qualified Clinical Supervisor for mental health interns. Fluent in Spanish, Michelle is committed to serving diverse communities with cultural sensitivity and clinical excellence.
