Michelle Montero-Caicedo, LMHC, is the founder and Chief Executive Officer at Turning Point Mental Health Center. Mrs. Montero-Caicedo has over 20 years of experience in child welfare and healthcare management. From 2005 through 2014 she was the Chief of Clinical Services at Our Kids of Miami-Dade/Monroe, Inc., the lead Community-Based Care Agency for foster care and adoption services in Miami-Dade and the Florida Keys. In that role, Mrs. Montero-Caicedo implemented innovative practices, such as the expansion of Child-Parent Psychotherapy to address trauma and attachment, Medical Case Management, a Nurse Home Visiting Program, monitoring of psychotropic medication, and ongoing developmental screenings for children in foster care. Prior to Our Kids, she was a Program Administrator for The Florida Department of Children and Families in the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Office. She has also worked as a psychotherapist in private practice and with health care management organizations.

Mrs. Montero-Caicedo received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida International University and a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. She completed her clinical practicum at the Miami Veteran’s Medical Center and her post-Master’s license requirements at Lighthouse Care Center, a Department of Juvenile Justice Residential Center for adolescent girls. Mrs. Montero-Caicedo holds a professional license by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and is certified by the Florida Department of Health as a Qualified Clinical Supervisor for mental health interns. She is also fluent in Spanish.
